WELLCOME TO SEGARA ANAK LAKE

Segara anak lake is a lake in the crater of Mount Rinjani, precisely in the area of ​​Sembalun Lawang Village, Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The name Segara Anak means “child of the sea” in the Sasak language. This lake is located at an altitude of approximately 2000 meters above sea level. If a climber climbs Mount Rinjani (3726 masl), generally they will cross this lake. Lake Segara Anak covers an area of ​​1,100 ha with a depth of 230 meters.

Many climbers of Mount Rinjani make hiking trails by utilizing the valley beside the lake to give offerings to the gods at the bottom of the lake. From the lake, you can see a volcano (Gunung Baru Jari which means an incipient mountain) which is a child of Mount Rinjani and nearby there is a hot air source which is believed to be able to treat various skin diseases. There are two hot springs, namely Aik Kalak and Goa Susu. In Goa Susu usually climbers who descend through the Torean Forest will usually spend the night there. Goa Susu is a natural sauna where hikers soak at night. There are also placed many offerings by Hindus.

In the area near the lake Segara Anak there is an old tree that is sacred by local residents. With the tree it is believed that what we want can come true.
